B&W CUSTOM TRUCK BEDS, INC. ACQUIRES QUICK DRAW HITCHING SYSTEMS

HUMBOLDT, KS: B&W Custom Truck Beds, Inc., originators of the Turnover Ball stowable gooseneck hitch, announced today that it has acquired Quick Draw Hitching Systems (QDHS) of Springville, Utah. “We had always considered developing our own line of receiver hitch systems, but we wanted to develop something that was as innovative and versatile to our customers as the original Turnover Ball,” explained B&W’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Scott Marsh. “Quite simply, we were impressed with the Quick Draw hitch, and saw a lot of similarities to our own design philosophy. It’s a hitch when you need it, and stows neatly out of the way when you don’t.”

The Quick Draw Hitch Systems product line of Quick Draw hitches will summarily be re-named the B&W Tow & StowÔ hitch product line, and all functions of the QDHS business will be re-located to B&W’s facility in Humboldt, Kansas, where it will become part of B&W’s Trailer Hitches Division. “Quick Draw Hitching Systems was a division of Wing Enterprises, manufacturers of “Little Giant” ladder systems,” Marsh explained. “B&W simply purchased the Quick Draw portion of the business from Wing Enterprises, so no jobs were lost in Utah, and several will be created in Kansas. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.” B&W will also retain its licensing agreements with Browning North America and Haas Outdoors, Inc. for the Browning and Mossy Oak Camo Edition hitches, respectively.

In addition to the QDHS product line, B&W will also acquire a network of approximately 1,000 dealers that did not carry the B&W product line previously. “It’s going to open new doors for us,” said Marsh. “B&W can strengthen its current product line through its expansion into this new dealer network, which will benefit both the company and its dealers. More importantly, it opens up brand new markets to us that are currently untapped, such as marine, equine, travel trailer and motorcycle/ATV.” Additionally, Marsh said the new Tow & Stow hitch systems will be offered through B&W’s current network of roughly 2,500 dealers nationwide.

The B&W Tow & Stow hitch product line, which features a ball mount that is height adjustable and folds underneath the receiver by simply pulling a pin, also accommodates multiple balls, making it the most versatile hitch system available. “The great thing about this product is, once you put it on the back of your vehicle, you’re never going to have to take it off,” said Marsh. “It can accept any hitch ball ever manufactured, and because it stows out of the way, you never have to worry about it becoming a knee-knocker.”

Moreover, Marsh says the B&W Tow & Stow hitch line will make development of other products possible, such as stabilizer and weight distribution systems, bike racks and the like.
