unveils innovative design in new entry-level living quarters horse
trailerCRESCO, Iowa / October 19, 2005 – Featherlite, Inc. (Nasdaq:FTHR), the nation’s oldest specialty aluminum trailer brand, has unveiled its most affordable living quarters horse trailer. New Model 8946 has an external design like no other Featherlite horse trailer and is uniquely priced for entry-level living quarters buyers. Featherlite engineers integrated the design of Featherlite’s new Sport Recreational Utility Vehicles (SURV) into the design of this innovative new horse trailer. Model 8946 has a smooth bottom rail and a 2-inch roof radius, in contrast to the 4-inch or 5-inch roof radius on other Featherlites, which gives the trailer a sleek, distinctive style. Model 8946 has a factory-installed 5-foot living quarters and is available in a two, three or 4-horse configuration. “With its compact design, Model 8946 offers horse owners a well-appointed, accessibly priced living quarters in a superior aluminum horse trailer,” Randy Lewis, Featherlite national sales manager, said. The standard living quarters package includes a queen bed, 2.7 cubic ft. refrigerator, microwave, shower, toilet, simulated oak cabinetry, radio and CD system, TV antenna with booster, carpeted boot box and over 25 other features. Model 8946 comes with 42-inch stalls plus the same Featherlite features known to keep horses safe and comfortable during travel, including Featherlite’s signature Light Flo drop down feed doors that dramatically increase light and airflow into the horse trailer, deep cushion ¾-inch floor mats to reduce stress on horses during travel and noise-reducing rubber coated tie rings. The unit also comes with the Featherlite durable, corrosion-resistant wiring harness and tack package with adjustable saddle racks. Horse owners can select from white, silver, black, mocha tan, red or natural side sheet colors. The trailer features a stainless steel front panel. The Featherlite Platinum Edition Package is available on the 8946 as an option. Standard features available with the Model 8946 assist in making traveling and loading easy for the customer.
