Smooth Talker, cell phone
boost. There's hope for those dead spots across the USA.
I
was happy with my cell phone carrier until it stopped working. Digital cell
works good in the city and analog works well in the country, but not all
cell carriers have good signals outside of cities. My cell carrier switched
companies they contracted analog services with. And this meant that the area
I roamed to in Eastern Colorado didn't have a signal. I was disappointed and
surprised they didn't inform me of their change in analog carriers, so of
course I switched my cell phone company to one with better analog service.
This is important when deciding
which cell phone company to choose. They don't all cover the same area's and
in more remote areas of the US where a major city could be 100 miles or more
away, reaching the towers for a analog signal can be a challenge. We've
gotten spoiled with cell phones, and depend on them. I've had cell phones
for 20 years, with the original rotary dial car phone with a suite case size
transformer and whip antenna. In between cities seems to be where
emergencies happen and a bad cell connection can be disastrous. I travel
across the country often and a cell phone is as important as my laptop.
I saw Smooth Talker at a RV
rally in Kansas. Smooth Talker is a 3-watt booster/amplifier and external
antenna. I called the director of Smooth Talker, John Vagas and learned more
about cell phone signals, frequencies, GSM 1900, 800 mhz, dual band, RF etc.
Too much to absorb. Bottom line is Smooth Talker booster and antenna can
boost your cell phone range 60 miles or more. This usually fills in the gabs
between analog towers. On my cell phone hooked up to Smooth Talker, my bar
signals went from one bar to 4 bars. So it worked. "And it also works on the
latest models, like the
new cell phones T-Mobile just released."
A
Farmers Story: It's five P.M., the field sprayer is getting low on
solution, some of the cows strayed home leaving their
pasture and dark thundering clouds are rolling in. I
reach the end of the field and grab my cell phone. I'm
trying to dial the head man to see which of us is
going to 'shut the well' down but the phone reads 'no
service'. We have had thousands of dollars worth of
damage to this irrigation well from lightning strikes
so it's important to reach him.
Just this year I had the large panel door blow open
when starting the huge (200HP.) motor here from a
direct short in the panel, throwing hot molten
material on the grass and weeds below and starting a
fire! Who said farming wasn't exciting?
The week before Kent aka. MrTruck brought a new cell
phone power booster down for me to evaluate. Summer is
always very busy here and I didn't have the time to
try it out. Now racing for time, I grab the box and
hook it up to my cell phone, running for the tractor
because the hot wire to my ash tray lighter is broken.
Fortunately I had repaired the lighter in the tractor
to run our new satellite navigation system. At first
it didn't work, I shut the booster off then back on,
and reconnected the antenna lead to the phone, and
presto- three bars showed up- I couldn't believe it.
Well, I finally got around to fixing the pickup
lighter and giving this booster some action.
From
dad's house in Otis my phone jumps from two bars to
five (full power), and from the center of the corn
field (with the dangerous well), my phone jumps from
one to four bars. This maybe beneficial in case of
electrocution!!!
A few days later I'm heading south of one of our
distant fields and bump into our now new county
commissioner. I show him my prized new toy and he
loves it and wants to purchase one. I can't tell you
enough how much I like this booster, it's impressed
the county commissioner and saved the day several
times for me now.
If you live in a area with poor coverage, or travel
through these areas often, like us 'sand-hill'
ranchers and the oil derricks now drilling south of us
you will want to try one of these 3 watt power
boosters on your cell phone. This will make your small
phone a little more powerful than the old bag phones,
plus I like getting the radio signal away from my
head.
Here are some other things I like about this product.
Besides being heavy, well made and durable, I really
like the screw on connectors - they stay connected
when others won't.
